On Krypton, Jor-El tries to warn the Ruling Council about the planet's impending doom. All the members scoff at him--except for statesman Zin-Rha, who represents Krypton's Black race. Zin-Rha supports Jor-El and is likewise derided. Later, privately, Zin-Rha tells Jor-El he'll help him any way he can--IF Jor-El agrees to construct a SECOND starcraft that will transport Jhi-Rha, Zin's infant daughter, to Earth. Jor-El agrees, and on the fateful day, Kal-El and Jhi-Rha are rocketed away from Krypton in their respective starcrafts. The starcrafts eventually reach Earth, and Kal-El lands in Smallville, Kansas. Jhi-Rha, however, lands in the Sudan, and is found by a nomadic couple who've HAD children, only to see the harsh, dry, unbearably HOT climate take their infants' lives. But Jhi-Rha, her Kryptonian cells energized by the yellow sun, proves to be invulnerable. She survives and grows up to become Jiira Ambarak, M.D. --- alias SolarStar, superhero of the Sudan! Eventually she'll cross paths with Superman, because he's battling with shady industrialist Lex Luthor, who's spending millions to drain the Sudan's crude oil resources.
